Because the site you are visiting is using https and has either no or an outdated security certificate.

You don't need to do anything other than avoid entering any personal info on the site. Probably best to avoid the site entirely.

Your date on your computer might be wrong if this happens on more than one site. Please check...

Just changed it and it is fine, any idea why it had changed in the first place?

Failing CMOS battery is the first port of call.

People tend to use the time/date in the systray as calendar when they want to check what weekday a certain day of the next month is. Then they click on that day and close the window... PEPCAK ;)

You could set the computer to use internet time so even if you did change the date/time by mistake or intentionally, the computer should resynchronise with the time source and change the time/date to the current time/date.

Tronator: Pepcak? I've heard of Pebkac :)

*edit, I thought I'd at least test the theory above and change the current date on my Windows XP machine to 31st of July, with the computer time synchronisation server set to time.windows.com with the hopes that the time/date would update and change automatically. Well, it didn't.
    Info from Microsoft "help" centre:
"The time shown on your computer is too different from the current time on the Internet time server. Internet time servers might not synchronize your clock if your computer's time is off by more than 15 hours. To synchronize the time properly, ensure that the date and time settings are set close to your current time in the Date and Time Properties in Control Panel."

Microsoft can't even get time source working correctly
