No, I'm agreeing you did make a mistake. It seems we clearly agree on that. You however seem to imply you made the same simple spelling mistake 4 times in a few lines, (just how close are the "a" and "e" keys?)
I disagree. I think you don't know when to use "effect" and when to use "affect".Graham_Devon wrote: »In any case, it only says "how it will effect". I.e. "how will it effect you"...."I'm on a tracker, so it won't". It's not stating 74% WILL be effected and see their rate rise. It's simply asking the question of whether the person knows how it will effect them.Graham_Devon wrote: »See, this is why I love this forum. Get a load of people shooting down an article that doesnt suit their viewpoint that they can't even read right, so someone picks up on it, and it's turned into a personal war
Why do I love it? Well, it's obviously upset some
You are never gonna get an "oh yes, I think that's correct, I must have read it wrong" around here. I guess making a mountain out of a molehill and taking it to a personal level, while trying to make out the one to see the error of everyone else, can't infact understand anything and is therefore a complete pleb is the equivalent to that
So you going to address the issue of why you think the 2 groups you cited are mutually exclusive? The bit I bought up to start with? You know the one, from post #19, where you ignored it and deflected onto your "spelling" mistake?0 -
no, no, no Jonny, no - it was your dault!!!JonnyBravo wrote: »It's not my fault you take humbrage at having your mistake (a common one) pointed out (a common reaction).
GD doesn't make mistakes, he's not allowed to be corrected and what he says is right - get with the program!!!!

I disagree. I think you don't know when to use "effect" and when to use "affect".
Are we still going?
It's a spelling mistake.
Why? Because I didn't spell the word I clearly meant....and you got the word I meant, which has allowed you to make such a huge deal from it.
Therefore, as you clearly realise what was meant with the word, and I clearly made an error using a "e" instead of a "a" as we can all see loud and clear....it was a spelling mistake.
I don't know quite what you are trying to prove here. I will admit to that. I did use "effect" instead of "affect".....but I'm not sure how thats not a spelling mistake, as clearly I used the wrong spelling, and you knew exactly what was meant.
So, to save confusion....what exactly are you trying to say here? If it's "Graham you made a spelling mistake"..... Jonny, I know. But I'm not sure what you want from me now

I think you're confusing spelling mistakes and typo's.
Both are excusable, but completely confusing one word with another is a different matter

Hang on who has not read it right? if you read the link it is clearly to gain interest in the site they have launched.Graham_Devon wrote: »See, this is why I love this forum. Get a load of people shooting down an article that doesnt suit their viewpoint that they can't even read right,
The data has no in depth description so how can you read it wrong? they have collected data and the more they make out people don't know their @rse from their elbow, the more hits they get.
I can't believe people think they just release the data and wow.... by chance they have a website relating to it!!!!0 -
To be frank, as I quite like frank....
I really don't have the foggiest idea what you are even on about any more. More hits conspiracies? Someones "fault"? Website relating to data?!
So I'm off for a pee, and then hitting the sack.0 -
To Add, lets put some perspective on this.
So they are saying 74% of people on variable rate mortgages do not know their rate can change.
Sounds like the courts will be full of people suing banks for mis-selling loans soon then.
It does not matter what side of the fence you sit on you would have to be mad to believe that. It is told to you when they take out the loan and is illustrated with examples.0 -
nothing new here - don't worry about it, we've got your back and we'll take care of you.Graham_Devon wrote: »I really don't have the foggiest idea what you are even on about0 -

Before I go, and my leg's starting to twitch here. Thats not what the article said. The article said "don't know how it may/would affect (for you, jonny boy) them.
Not that they don't know their rate can change.
Tis what I was saying.
Can't read, won't read. Ba da bing.
Cheers really, you always pull through for me.0
