Cheap (free?) digital watch...?

I'd really like a cheap digital watch that I can stick on the handlebars of my bike so I check the time as I ride...
In the past I've seen quite a few catalogue companies that give away a cheap watch when you request a catalogue, or those "you are guaranteed a prize in the draw" promotions in which nearly everyone "wins" a cheap watch.
Are there any promotions where I can get a watch for a couple of quid tops?
Thanks in advance

So you've got a bike and a computer but you can't afford to buy a watch? Tightwad.
6 weeks ago Primark were selling cheapy watches for a quid. They may not be still available but if you're going past there then it's worth popping in. See this thread on Hotukdeals.

Otherwise the cheapest I can find is £3.59 from Argos. It comes in a variety of colours so you'll probably find one that matches your handlebars.

I've looked back over the last month on the Freebie and Nearly Freebie Boards but I couldn't find anything watch related0 -

Erm... How exactly do you know anything about my financial situation? My bike was a gift that I was given about eight years ago (and cost £125 - hardly extravagent), and my PC was bought with a hard-earned bonus from work... when I had a job. For reasons I won't go into ('cos they're none of you f***ing business) I'm taking a few months off work and am trying to limit my expenditure until I start looking for another one. Is that really such a complicated state of affairs to get your head round? Do you complain on all the freebie threads that no one should ever be using an expensive computer to look for freebies? Very strange that you should come across such a forum in the first place methinks...
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions - the Argos one looks like the kind of thing I'm after.0 -
If you're willing to wait you can get watches for sub £1 off eBay coming from the likes of Hong Kong.
Can't post a link as I'm a newbie but just search for digital watch with the sort by set to 'Price + P&P: lowest first'0 -
Thanks, ms51ves3 - I've just had a look and will keep my eye on a few Casio watches since they're only a few quid. Hopefully a Casio branded one will be splashproof and last a bit longer than an unbranded one. :-)0
