Just started tackling my debts

I bought my first house last year with the wife and since then have racked up a few debts doing the place up.

So to start with I have
Sandander £230 on overdraft
RBS £180 on overdraft and £930 on credit card
Virgin credit card £2988
Barclaycard Goldfish £50 (card only used for paypal and ebay)
All on 0%, except the RBS overdraft.
Total £4328

So I am now just getting around to fixing up all our finances (I know I should have done it a long time ago).
First move is to get a First Direct account and close down the Santander and RBS accounts.
Then I plan to pay off the RBS card, which hopefully won't be too long and close that.
I then plan on chipping away at the Virgin card.

I feel that we got into this much debt was because we had 3 bank accounts and 3 credit cards between us, so often lost track on really how much we had spent. Our aim is to clear all the debts and have 1 joint account, 1 credit card and 2 savings accounts (1 for mortgage and 1 for holiday).

Thanks for reading.

    Hi and welcome

A useful starting point can be to draw up a detailed statement of affairs, which should show you how much you have left to repay off your debts each month after accounting for your outgoings. http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html

Then work through each expense item and see if you can get save money by switching provider etc or by cutting down on your usage or luxuries.

Good that most of your debt is 0%, obviously tackle paying off the one that is charging interest first.
