Batteries For A DigiCam

Anyone know which are the best?

I use the Duracell Ultra M3 ... but they don't last at all .... and i only get to take a few pictures over an hour, I even take them out when I am not using the camera for 5 mins or so! And it is getting rather expensive .....!

Is it normal for batteries to run out so quick with a digicam? I have a Samsung 4 mega what ever it is:rolleyes:

When we got the camera .... it had a bettery in there that lasted about 3 days, they were two AA ones that seemed to be joined together with an outer shell. I threw it away when it run out:rolleyes: , but does anyone know what type they are??

Thanks for your help in advance,
Ally

ps. if anyone has any tips on where to get them, I will be needing them (online or offline) by Tuesday next week!
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

Hi, remember these things use a lot of power, so you need at least 2000mAh batteries. I bought these for 16 quid, and you get 4 sets of rechargeable batteries which do last a while. If you still have the same issue, then check the camera out.

  • Ally you should really go for the paired AA Nihm rechargeables at 2300mAh, small chargers are available. The CR-V3 holds 3000mAh, only a third more capacity and it is a throw away device. The nihms will last the life of the camera.

You could fully charge 2 or 3 sets before you go and have one Duracell for backup.Stored they will not loose their charge, as the old rechargeable Nicads do, and anyway unless its very touristy the CR-V3 would probably be cheaper abroad.
Unless you are going to the States all you need is an adapter plug from the £ shops as the mains voltages are the same. The charger that came with my Casio is not much bigger than 2" square by 3/4" thick, charges AA and AAA, and works on any voltage from 100 to 250v. The batteries last for days.

Jessops and Boots sometime have offers if price is uppermost.

Click on Jessops promo , awaiting delivery online but maybe in a shop near you, not bad £9.99 for 6 batteries and charger. I'm off to to see if they are in stock even if they are only 2000mAh.

Scat ;) Have a Great holiday, you lucky soandso.

Hey there Scatty ... nice to see your avataaar again :D Ummmm, blue touch paper wasn't it!!

Am just about to place an order for the following:

Hahnel Powerstation TC Compact Max Battery Charger + 4xAA 2350mAH NiHM Batteries
    &
Hahnel NiMH AA 2000mAh 4 pack (back up just incase!)
    &
Belkin Universal AC Travel Adapter (will need it for next week and it looks so darn cute!!)

The Hahnel is the only one that has quick delivery ... others are at 1-2 weeks delivery and they have 2200 mAh (BIG THANKS to Weesax for pointing that out, I didn't have a clue!) so the Hahnel (even though it isn't a fast charger) seems to be pretty good ...... that's cos I will be using up my Amazon vouchers:D

    Thanks again all *Kisses*

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all those who helped ..... the 2000+mah was an excellent tip .... I would never have thought to look at that!

Batteries arrived a day before we left .... so had to get them all charged up pronto! And I can not believe how long thay lasted!! I took 4 sets with me, and never had to recharge once for the 7 days we were there! We averaged around 125 pictures a day too  And I never even had to use my back up CRV3:D still have one set of rechargeables in the camera too:D

So thanks again ..... you guys saved me so much hassle about worrying over the batteries and not getting enough pictures of such a beautiful place *kiss to you all*

    Ally:)
