Previous Years Tax Rebate

in Cutting tax
I wonder if anyone knows the answer to a question about reclaiming work related expenses...
A few months ago I wrote to the tax office listing 3 years of professional work related fees (professional subscriptions etc). I recently received a tax rebate for the year 2009/10, and an amended tax code for the current tax year. However, I haven't yet received any word on the 2 previous years' worth of fees.
Can you claim tax rebates for work related expenses for previous years, or is it only the current/last tax year? If you can, I would expect it's reasonable to take longer to look through and calculate?
Cheers

Previous years refunds are no more difficult to calculate than last year's. You need to ring your tax office and ask them what is happening.0

Also check your tax code, does it have an earlier years adustment in it, sometimes the repayments for earlier years are given in your tax code for the current year as a credit. So your code may show your personal allowance, your flat rate expenses and then another amount too.
It could also be that they refund will follow, as a notice of coding and tax calculation are sent out seperately. Give it 10 working days, if no refund received and its not in your code, then its the dreaded contact centre again.0
