Hi all!
My name is Sharon, it is my husband who set up this face book page, 'Justice For Enniskillen Poppy Day Bomb Victims' I am NEW to MSE so please forgive me if I'm not doing it right.
Ex-Spendaholic very kindly set up this fourm on our behalf and I was overwhelmed by your support that I had to join!
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your support, both Stephen and myself are so grateful to each of you as our campaign would not be such a success without people like you. We now have over 3,400 members from all over the world - USA, Aurstralia, Holland, Italy, Poland and even Nigeria! We would like to double that figure before we meet with the Fire Chiefs next month.
Back in October 2007 Fire Chiefs from NIFRS ordered the removal of the 11 Innocent Enniskillen Poppy Day Bomb Victims photo montage within 55mins from an anonymous call. After 2 1/5 years the Northern Ireland Ombudsman found the NIFRS 'GUILTY' of maladministration in May 2010. As of yet, two months later, this montage has not been reinstated on the wall in Enniskillen Fire Station.
The montage was put up on the wall of Enniskillen Fire Station by the fire fighters after the bomb and remained there for over 19 years, they bought it with money they had from their own social fund. This montage was taken down after only 55 mins from the time of the anonymous call. The NIFRS said that they fully investigated this before its removal - within 55 mins...not possible as the Ombudsman finds this evident in his report. That was the first lie told. Then the NIFRS went on to say that they had checked with The Equality Commissioner, we asked The Equality Commissioner was this the case…their reply was NO. This was not a coincident that this montage was removed when it was. This happened just before the 20th anniversary in October 2007 and bear in mind that the anonymous caller phoned back NIFRS HQ to retract his complaint as he 'didn’t think it would go this far'! Again in his report the Ombudsman highlights this, that it looks like a prank to cause even more pain and hurt within the community.
Please do suggest and encourage others to join our fb page. As I am a new user I can't post a link! You can type in 'Justice For Enniskillen Poppy day Bomb Victims' on face book and get it that way.
If you do not have face book please send me a private message on this and I will post your comment on our facebook wall. I will try to anyway, as I said before I am not too confident with computers lol
Once again thank you for taking the time to support us
