I start a 3 week holiday as from this Saturday, on Thrusday I have a job interview should I be offered the job were do I stand with my old employer who I have to give 1 weeks notice. Question is my current employer requires me to work a weeks notice how can I work a weeks notice during my holidays would a new employer wait over a month for me to be free ?

Do they require you to WORK a weeks' notice, or GIVE a week's notice - you may need to check your contract.
Either way, you would just hand your notice in; and they would calculate your leaving date from your date of handing the notice in.
If you have taken the 3 weeks hols, but have not yet accrued the 15 days leave; then they would adjust your final pay packet to take this into consideration.
Perhaps wait until you are offered a job before worrying about it. If they run their business with people on a week's notice, then presumably they don't worry too much about hand-over of job to other staff.0
