whats the difference between these two rings?

hello

i was looking in that wedding ring forum and saw the Chapelle company and was looking threw their rings when i saw this one 1803038500000000.jpg which says its a wedding / eternity ring ( i found it in the wedding ring section) and is a 18ct gold 10 point brilliant cut 1/2 ring for £225 - http://www.chapelle.co.uk/Wedding-Rings/Diamond-Set/2mm/42196.html

and then i saw this one - 0108013800000001.jpgwhich was advertised in just the ring section as a eternity ring but would be nice as a wedding ring and is 9ct gold 10 point diamond half ring but is only £69.99 - http://www.chapelle.co.uk/Rings/9ct-Gold/Diamond/455.html

i can see the difference in gold but apart from that i'm confused.

It's the gold and the cut of the diamond which is different.

It might be a heavier weight for the first one too- so a bit thicker band. It's hard to say when you're just looking at pics. I guess you actually need to see them to see the difference in quality. What ct gold is your engagement ring? If you are intending on wearing them together then you should get one which is the same ct. :)

if it was mme I'd say that firstly the quality of the gold is different, as you noted, and secondly the quality of the diamonds in the cheaper one is likely to be pretty dire in comparison to the more expensive one - for instance the cut may not be as good, or the clarity, which is how clear the diamonds are, so if you put the two rings side by side the expensive one would positively sparkle, while the cheaper one may look "duller" and some of the diamonds may have inflections or a milky appearance. Just a guess :).
