just been declined for a CC GUTTED

How can this be? :wall:

Ive been paying off steadily.

I just thought Id get one for costs to do with my moving. I did apply for a marbles card the other day as i thought it was 0% on purchases, but when I phoned them to ask where it was, she siad no its 20% on purchases, so I said, look cancel it I dont want it. She siad she would pronto & when the card comes I should chop it ( still hasnt arrived)

Would it be cos this card hasnt been cancelled. I cant get into my credit report at the mo- is there one I can access online for free NOW?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

  • I think you can get a free experian report online free for 30 days, however you have to cancel it on the 30 days otherwsie you get charged each month for it.

  • Poor you sweetie .... I know it's not a great one but there is a lower level credit check but the interest is quite high - capital one. It may be the solution if the card is emergency use only type of thing

BUt if Ive just been declined is that a good idea, applying again?

Ive just seen FD havent updated my credit report, as closed so Ive called and asked them to do it.

  • we had a similar situation last week...we were declined on the second card and we assume it is because we'd just had a credit check for a cc. We got a letter through saying how they are responsible lenders and to try again in 6 months.
I probably wouldn't apply again just yet.

Hey sweetie, sorry to see the bad news. Have you considered appealing the decision? I read on the CC forum that it's always worth doing before trying somewhere else.

Also, it may be that you are not the specific customer they are looking for and not necessarily something wrong with your credit worthiness

    I've been Money Tipped!
it could be that they see you are clearing your debts and they know that they are not going to make money out of you or if you have applied for new bank accounts ect that will effect your credit score its proberly just bad timeing if you had appled six months ago the proberly wouldnt of been a problem
i cant slow down i wont be waiting for you i cant stop now because im dancing
