Out of the Blue ...BOS

Shock horror this morning in the post we received an offer from Blair Oliver Scott for Bank of Scotland (coincidence that their initals arethe same??) to settle a £3750 debt for £1295. We didn't request a settlement figure and there is no date on the letter but it says pay in 14 days ..... I may have the money in the next month but not 14 days..... what shall I do?

bargain with them, if this is out of the blue.. say you wont have 1295, but you might be able to get 800, and take it from there

thats what Id do, but others might have better ideas????

Thanks Doll - thats what I thought - offer something rather than nowt .... what about time scale - if there is no date sureley i can say its only just arrived..... poor old royal mail get a lot of blame in our house!

Do they definately represent BOS, they're not a bunch of scam artists?

Yes they do, They are one of the solicitor to the Bank of Scotland.

They ARE part of Bank of Scotland.

Thanks for the update vis a vis who they are - what shall i do regarding the lack of date on the letter?

contact them, see if the F & F is still valid - make a lower offer and negotiate from there
