In terms of emotional support, these forums are usually very good. they can get a bit quiet at night time. If you need to actually TALK to someone, that's just what the Samaritans are for:

You could see your GP about your inability to sleep, or try your health visitor who may have some ideas about the nursery situation - they must be used to hearing about these sorts of problems even if they can't do anything directly.
You will get this sorted out.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Thank you so much for your help so far!
Tomorrow I have a day off, so I have decided it's time to get pro-active. I'm going to get organised, all my paperwork together, phone the Council Tax office, phone my MP, phone Tax Credits (for the thousandth time!), and look into possibly applying for a crisis loan. I will also PM the person you mentioned.
(On a personal note, I am dealing with a divorce, being a single mum, not going home to visit my family for over 2 years, and dealing with these financial issues. I have some friends here but I can not afford to go out with them...my mental state is declining rapidly and as strong as I try and be, sometimes it just gets too overwhelming and I worry about losing my flat, losing my child, etc. I only am expressing this so everyone understands just how much I appreciate even a small hint of advice or words of encouragement!)0 -
Definitely speak to your health visitor.
Also try Gingerbread http://www.gingerbread.org.uk/portal/page/portal/Website. There will be others in the same situation. You will find a group that suits you, although each group tends to have its own personality I think ie don't give up if you don't get on too well at the first one. There was a time when I was a single parent that I lived for my Gingerbread meetings.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
PS I'm off to bed now. try and get some sleep or rest at least.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Does your ex have any assets, eg a house? You need to make sure you get a good financial settlement, which could involve him taking on some of the debts. I'm not completely sure how it works with it all being in your name but I'd def speak to your lawyer, I'm assuming they're a specialist in family law? In fact, I'm assuming you have a lawyer, if not you need to asap, you should be eligible for legal aid.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Hi
If you are the sole adult in a property you will get 25% off your Council tax so make sure you claim from when your husband left.
Don't dispair, you will get there, these forums are great for advice on almost any problem large or small.
Stick with us and you will get there I promise.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
I really understand how much more difficult life can be when you're living in a different country, far from friends and family. Apart from not having that support network you just don't necessarily know how the system works and need to figure it all out which is more stress. Are you a member of a local church - they may be able to help practically as well as offering a sympathetic ear.
Chim up, things will get sorted out eventually. Hugs.Trying to keep in budget.
