It's pretty clear that you don't need to move back home at all but are just looking for an easy life.
Well, they have a 5 bedroom house in the middle of the countryside, my little brother has just flown the nest, and my mum is feeling lonely. Me occupying one room would only add food costs and little else.
I'm recently divorced so they also want to do what they can so I can get things back on track... which this is all part of.0 -

Right now it does not as I'm working stupid hours.0 -
Maybe it's £200/night because that's what you used to spend ... but break that down, how can you spend £200? There might be other/cheaper ways of doing it.You know what.. that's a really good idea... aside from my friend's 30th on 17th (she'd kill me if I didn't go to London and that's easily a £200 night).. I think I might just give that a go
.
I can't believe you'd consider spending £200 for one night for somebody's random birthday!!0 -

She's my best friend and helped me out significantly in recent times... it's her 30th and she wants a blow out 'posh' night so that's what she's going to get
. Transport to London and hotel is easily £100 straight away. Food will be £30 and club entry + drinks £70. 0 -

£200 for a night out is fairly easy to do in Manchester so if he's off to London that's very very easy to go through. We went to Manchester for a day on the beer the other Saturday and went through £150 that's without hotel bills etc which the OP may have.
It's silly spending that amount of money but it's easily done. If it wasn't for me winning a few quid on the football I wouldn't have had that money spare to go out with.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.0

It might be easily done, but its the kind of thing he'll need to look at changing if he wants more leftover cash.
Can't you stay with a friend instead of a hotel? Drink less? Book your train ticket in advance?0 -

Well, I thought about staying with a friend... but they live 30 mins away from central London and wouldn't appreciate me showing up blind drunk @ 4am Sunday morning
. Train tickets and hotel are being booked via work so already good discount. I don't understand the comment about drinking less
?
Seriously this is just one of those nights that will be what it will be
.
I will however be taking up the £30 per week challenge this month... I need to lose some weight anyway

4am?? You're getting an early night then... That'll save a few quid
Stay out another couple of hours then jump on the first train home and sleep all the way back. You might be a bit stinky but it'll save a big hotel bill... It's been known by me and my mates before now when we've been away watching football. If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.0
