Now that is one draw I will not enter... so I miss out on winning the odd tenner here or there, but at least I keep my £52 (sorry £104) per line I would have spent each year.

I only do those on what I or my horsey friend can use

totally agree with you WSO - I'm really superstitious about "using up" my luck on rubbish prizes, so I only enter when I really want the prize (or could sell it on ebay for lots of ££££££!!)

Haven't entered any postal comps yet, but think that might be next step!

What's the best thing you've ever won?

It's not only about luck, statistics come into it too!

If everyone only entered the competitions that they wanted to win or found useful then there wouldn't be so many entries diluting the "pool" and so there would be a greater chance of everyone winning... of course, "common" prizes like TVs and electricals will always be more popular than the specialist prizes (such as the horsey comps I enter) but cest la vie!

becsxxx, the best thing I've won has to be the day out at Burghley Horse Trials which I'll be going to on Thursday. I feel a little disapointed that my friend can't come with me as she lets me help look after and occasionally ride her pony at the weekend and it would have been a lovely and relatively cheap way of saying thank you. I'm taking her daughter though, so am looking forward to a full day of horses (getting a paid day off is just a bonus!)

I enter the draws/comps in the cheapest way available - while most methods of entering are used (online, text, postcard) there isn't too many online applications in the mags as they want to know that you are actually reading their publication... having said that they have a few exclusively online comps to get you going to the website! If there is more than one postcard/coupon comp in a mag I just send them all to the main office in an envelope - means there is more space on the postcard and I can enter all the comps with a single 2nd class stamp. I've never had to spend money on a text and probably wouldn't enter if I had to... too much risk for me that...

Have a fantastic time at Burghley WSO! I've been loads of times and even used to steward there when I still lived at home with my parents!

Can I borrow some luck? :rotfl:

I worked out I've entered about 600+ competitions and not won a thing, except the Avon instant win, and that was more down to perseverance than anything else.

Having said that apparently a parcel arrived today, will be surprised if it's a win though because I've not been emailed or anything

Oh well, try try and try again...

I'm sure you're due a good win soon then debecca (great name by the way!!!!;) )

    Fingers crossed for you! :T

Remember also, that even if you've done 600 comps, loads of them won't have closed yet, so you might have wins still to come!

Let us know if your package is something fab! :j
