Offer them £150 or something in full and final. They'll likely accept it.0

Thanks BigCraigJohn, shall give it a try using the ndl template letter.
I know 1st Credit would have accepted something (I offered £150 a fortnight ago) but as they had the debt down as over £100 more than they should they couldn't agree anything, so will try direct with Vanquis. Shall ensure they use the correct words to confirm no more money shall be payable and that my credit report shall show as satisfied.
Woop woop I love achieveing fantastic end results, I have so many MSErs to thank for help and advice! Thank you BCJ and DarkConvict (sorry if I've forgotten anyone lol) especially for often popping into my threads with useful info!
You're all wonderful!
Will post results asap!I've got nothing else but I've got my family.

Hi all! Am a bit slow at getting onto things, but have got the money together to offer Vanquis. Could you please check this letter for me and offer any advise? Also, shall I inform Vanquis that the offer is only open til a certain date? And if so, how shall I word it? Many thanks!

WITHOUT PREJUDICE:
Dear Sir/Madam
Ref xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you for your letter, from 'Impact Collection Services', dated 19 July 2010, accepting my increased payment offer of £20 per month, to clear my outstanding balance of £208.32. I have recently received a small Government grant (actually to buy items for my baby, due in September 2010) and find myself in a position in which to offer Vanquis an ex-gratia payment of £150 in full and final settlement of the account. This offer is made on the clear understanding that, if accepted, neither you nor any associate company will take any other action to enforce or pursue this debt in any way whatsoever and that I will be released from any liability for this debt.
I also request that, if accepted, you will make an entry with the credit reference agency files relating to the above account as "satisfied" in full.
Payment can be made immediately upon receiving your written agreement to this offer. If Vanquis do not accept, I shall offer the money to another creditor and continue to make my £20 per month payments to this account as previously agreed.
I look forward to receiving your reply.
Faithfully,
CLODI've got nothing else but I've got my family.

Well I sent the letter and it's been signed for, let's hope I get a positive result/reply!
I also wrote to Vanquis, 1st Credit & Connaught Collections previously to point out the mistake regarding the total balance on the account. I got a letter back today from 1st Credit, headed 'You have raised a dispute/query' in big black capital letters. They then go on to state that they'll be in touch with their client and if I'm not disputing the full amount owed to contact them to discuss a repayment plan. Oh yeah, and it will take AT LEAST ONE MONTH for them to get a reply from Vanquis!
Well clearly I AM disputing the balance (!) so won't be changing my payments or calling them to discuss this (IDIOTS!!) what was the point in sending a standard reply?! These people are so backward I'm surprised any of them make it to the office eveyday!!!!!!
If my f&f offer's rejected, I'll be taking this above Vanquis & 1st Credit and sod their at least one month rubbish!I've got nothing else but I've got my family.
