BTL Query

I was watching an old TV program yesterday and it was all about this new craze called BTL. Apparently I can buy new build or off plan with no money down, I think its called a gift deposit. And then sit back and watch the money roll in. With such a brilliant deal I wondered why so little was mentioned about it nowadays?
Anyway, just sharing the news, trying to help out fellow MSEers. According to the presenters you can't fail.
Or at least back then you couldn't.

Option 1) The idea that you an repackage subprime mortgage debt and in doing so diversify away the risk has been shown to be incorrect. There's no longer the financial demand for such products.
Option 2) The new build / off-plan homes have neither laminate floor or magnolia walls. Meaning, as detailed in another thread, no-one wants to purchase one.0 -
Funny how quickly investment crazes go in and out of fashion. Seems such a short while since everybody was getting into it.0

Your spelling suggests it's a family thing.

I once built a property off plan and sold once completed.
I initially left it as built so the buyers could decorate to their taste.
The concensus of viewers was that they couldn't visualise the space.
I then put down carpets throughout and dressed the property with furniture.
Next viewer snapped it up for more than I was selling it previously and including the furnishing costs.
Some people just don't have the visual imagination and need to see the property as if they could simply walk in and put their feet up.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.
