Factors court charges

I've basically been a blind fool and ignored my factors bill for the past god knows how many months now, I recently called up to find out my balance from them as I have decided for once and for all i'm going to sort out this mess that i'm in..
on top of the £1000 i owe them, since they've applied for court action to be filed against me, I know owe a further £750 in court fees!? is there any way around this? Surely they can't charge me that much money for a couple of letters!
thanks in advance,
Gary

Hi
That seems a lot for court fees (although I don't know loads about the scottish court system - I assume you are in scotland?) have they given you a breakdown of the £750? are you sure some isn't meant to be interest etc?
I think it might be sensible to give national debtline scotland a quick call for some advice.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
