Bailiffs for parking fine

Hi, I dont think im posting this in the correct place so appoligies in advance :)

I was looking for some advice, i recieved a letter a about 3 weeks ago from rossindales bailiffs for a £214 parking fine. I called them up as i have had no previous letters or even a parking ticket! Im guessing someone pulled it off my windshield! The lady i spoke to said they had been trying to contact me at my old address and asked why i hadnt informed them that i have moved.

Either way i have to pay the ticket now and i accept this but i physically cant afford o pay it. I rang back up and told them this and they said i can pay £107 on the 14th of july and £107 on the 30th of july. im a single parent and a student and there is no physical way i can afford to pay those installments, basically does anyone know if they can just refuse to let me pay smaller installments

please help :(

Was this an offical/local authority/police parking fine or a mickey mouse/tesco/private/supermarket type one.

Assuming its the former you are very likely to need to pay it so only real recourse will be the standard baliff stalling advice elsewhere on here (not letting them in and hiding the car) until you get the money together.

why were they looking at your old address, if your DVLA registered address for the vehicle isn't up to date thats not only your fault but also an offence and you'd better get it put right quickly or you could be fined for that too.

Sorry op this is a question that may help you but need some clarification of those in the know :)

Are these parking fine still open to the usual N245 at the court for reduced payments?

You may want to read up on out of time late Statutory Declarations.

The information seems to imply that if you did not receive the information (like you moved house) you can apply to get the warrant removed. Although, this may be a 'faff' it suggests that you would be able to pay the reduced amount for the fine, rather than the amount demanded. Even if you do pay the bailiff something you may be able to get it refunded.

I know bailiffadviceonline is a commercial site, but the person running it does post on here, so I expect that they will give good advice.

Why do you have to pay if you've never received it? Do you now know what it was for and accept that you were parking illegally?

How did they get your old address? You shouldn't have to pay additional charges (which it sounds like there are lots of) if they've been writing to an incorrect address for no reason. On the otherhand if they got it from the DVLA then you need to get it updated sharpish!
