Hi Folks,
I haven't ever posted before but have been reading regularly the different debt advices given and handy tips on cutting down spending, being more thrifty, etc.
At the start of 2008 my husband left me along with various debts ( credit cards, a provident loan, and 1 store card, overdraft, etc) which seemed insurmountable at the time. I had lost my job 3 weeks earlier, was made homeless and was just in a really sad place at my lowest ebb.
I used the advice on here and worked out my income/outgoings and where to cut down etc and finally I have reached my halfway point- provident loan is paid off, 1 CC is paid off and the store card, overdraft paid off. It's been a tight couple of years, no luxuries etc but I finally can see an end in sight and will be out of debt by May 2011.
I can't tell you how good it feels and it's all thanks to the good advice you peeps give on here. Just wanted to say keep up the good work and HUGE thanks. Not everyone feels brave enough to post their problem/situation on here ( like me, to ashamed/embarrassed) but there are those of us 'lurkers' who are taking the advice and using it as well as those for who the advice was given.
Thankyou again
