Hastings car insurance warning
Hi, My expereience with Hastings,
I am with Hastings and my wife is with the AA and I would never ever use Hastings again as long as I live.
1 - I did not receive a new insurance certificate so I phoned them and after waiting about an hour I was told that they had definitely posted it and I must have lost it, if I want a copy it would be £25! I explained that I had never had one and if they did not send one I would never use them again. I did not get one.
2 - I sold my car and phoned (waited an hour to speak to them) and asked them to suspend my insurance while I found a new car. They refused. They do not suspend car insurance policys.
3 - I bought another car and was due to collect it on Friday evening, I phoned them 3 times on Thursday to change the details and could not get to speak to anyone. I was on hold that long that my batteries went flat in my home phone!
I tried all day Friday and eventually phoned as a new customer to their sales department and explained that I needed to change my insurance details as I was getting another car. I eventually spoke to them on my mobile as I was on my way to collect the car. They charged me £25 for the privilage.
Following this we changed the wifes car and it was so easy- Phoned the AA, they answered, I spoke to a human being and it was all done in 10 minutes.
My policy runs out in August and I cannot wait. I would never ever use Hastings again.
