Birthday Ideas for my Sister's 18th Birthday Party!!

Hello all,

It's my Sisters 18th Birthday this Saturday. On Saturday we are having friends round ours and then off out in a limo and on Sunday we are having Family and friends round for a big party.

I was just wondering if there are any ideas to make the 2 occasions even more special. Money is not really an issue but I would like some ideas that would make my sisters Birthday more special i.e food ideas, drink recipes and decorations. I did think about some photo collages?

Things to consider
* she is quite girly
*the party will be outside
*there will be about 40 guests
*the food will be mainly bbq and buffet

Any help will be much appreciated!:)

xXx

    Hi!
    I had my 18th birthday recently. A badge with 18 on it and an 18 key are a must have! Also I've seen shot galsses on a necklace, which she can have if you are goin out drinking!

    I also wanted to try all the famous cocktails like sex on the beach, cosmopolitan, pina colada, bloody mary etc, maybe you could make up your own cocktail for the bbq and name it after her?

    I had a few younger cousins at my birthday meal, and I made them party bags to keep them entertained, and I had a cupcake tower instead of a birthday cake, so I put a cupcake in each party bag, maybe you could ice the number 18 on the top of cupcakes?
    On my 17th birthday I had friends round for a bbq and we played party games all evening like pass the parcel, the chocolate game, pin the tail on the donkey, it was so much fun!

    For decorations I had a banner, balloons everywhere, and 18 confetti on the tables along with party poppers. You could maybe have some pictures of her getting older around? Or make her a scrap book with pictures of her getting older and writing memories in it? I bought my boyfriend a disposable camera and a photo album for his birthday, because you always get the funniest pictures from the disposable ones, maybe you could have them for the limo?

    I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, I hope it helps though!

    I think you seemed to have everything sorted in terms of making it 'special' to be honest. The big birthdays like this tend to be quite special anyway so need little extra surprise, a party with family and friends is usually enough :D. I hope you all have a great weekend, Im sure you have :D

    As a side no: I think keys are more appropriate for a 21st birthday as it is 'the key to the door, never been 21 before.' There seems to have been a trend of including key related items for 18th over the last few years (money making scheme no doubt) but I prefer to keep this for a 21st as its more traditional. Alcohol related items to keep to remember the birthday are more appropriate (champaigne glasses etc) as this is the age you can start legally drinking! Just my opinion though :D
