A famous Dr Seuss quote to title my diary. Life truly is a balancing act for me…
So for the final time ever I am debt free, I owe nothing to anyone and it feels quite strange. I now am starting the major task of saving for my future. Its quite strange because although I need to save I haven’t got a real target like many savers (i.e. house deposit etc). My idea is to save 6 months basic wage and then go from there.
Of course there will be mini savings targets along the way but just now I need to focus on this target. In order to complete this I need to save at least 35% of my wages each month. Obviously my spending and bills will have to all be addressed in order to make this happen. So I also plan at least 15 nsd’s a month, reduce public transport costs, reduce grocery spends and try and find extra work.
So that’s me, sorry I closed my other diary with no notice I just needed to turn a new leaf.

:rotfl: Gem as you know I am an all or nothing type girl. I have been debt free before and I failed to save because I didn't think I was doing enough. Now I think I need to take a day at a time and see what happens. I have a standing order for a nominal amount each month to my savings so as long as thats covered I will be happy. As it is there has been a huge change in my household so right now the s/o will be the majority of my saves
Payday soon :j I have had to take over our pet insurance for the dog. This takes my direct debits/standing orders to 4 a month, one too many really but hopefully it will not be for long. I won't have to pay for this myself as we have decided that Mum will cover this as I pay for house insurance. However its still coming out of my current account so I am classing it as a bill
Thats about it really, I am thinking about putting a couple things on Ebay but moreso to give me some 'play' money as I need some new sharpies and stuff that I can re-order from ebay. NSD challenge starts tomorrow and I need 15th before the 14th August, simples :rotfl:
Take care all :beer:0 -

Thanks Pen :A
:rotfl: Gem, we must keep on top of it this time. After all you need a white dress and a new house
So payday has been and gone :rotfl: My standing order has go to my savings account, that now rasies my saves to 4% :T I am also sending a small amount to them in a cheque but I will have to wait for that to clear. 2/15 NSD's so far, not too bad.
I am off to the meet on Sunday and to Bath on Monday but I am hoping to curb my spends. I am thinking £20 for each day. That would leave me £50 for the remainder of the month, seems do able
Have a great weekend all :j0 -
Have a good weekend too, Pap. Seems like you've plenty going on
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
