Life drawing class with a nude male model.
My best friends wife did it for her hen party. She said that she wasn't interested in a stripper, thought that they are a bit seedy. She got a big shock when she opened her eyes and a naked man was standing in front of her, but she soon settled and said it ended up being the best activity of the weekend by far.

If that interests you then I can speak to her tomorrow and find out the name of the company that they used.

There are loads of Travel lodges in Edinburgh and if you are booking a while ahead you can usually get them really cheap.

What kind of budget/age group are you thinking of? I have a friend who works for an appartment company but I think they tend to be quite expensive though they are very nice. Personally I would look at maybe booking up a couple of dorm rooms in a hostel as there are lots of hostels in Edinburgh with excellent facilities but I understand that that is not to everyone's tastes.

Also do you have a rough idea of dates? I hope I'm not pointing out the obvious but you should avoid rugby weekends and august as the prices of accomodation shoot up at these dates (unless you're very fond of drunk rugby fans that is).

Either be April or June not quite sure yet. Dont think hostel would suit some of my sisters friends so will have to pay more to get something bit nicer. maybe £100-£130 each of the 2 night so £1300 for 2 nights x

In that case the apartments that my friend works for might suit. I can't post links but here is the url, just put dots instead of the spaces.

He works part time there while at uni - I don't want you to think I have any personal interest in the business, but I have been inside a couple of the apartments and they are really nice.

Alternatively there are a couple of apartments and budget hotels listed on hostelworld.com but I've no experience of them.

    Hope that helps

I have stayed at Apex Grassmarket and MacDonald Holyrood hotels - would recommend both and I know that MacDonald do packages with breakfast and dinner included. We went to a nightclub which played lots of music from 80's and had live band too - cant remember name offhand but could find it out if it is something u would be interested in.
  • For my friends henny a couple of weeks ago we did cocktail making in the afternoon at Revolution which was brilliant and included nibbles...well the nibbles were a load of pizza and potato wedges so lunch was sorted.

At night time we did the party bus (Club Class Bus) and it was great fun. Took us round a few bars then dropped us at a club. On the bus they play music etc. so it was really really good fun would recommend it. You can also get dinner through that however the restaurant we ended up at wasn't great...

We stayed in apartments a stone's throw from the Royal Mile on Old Tolbooth Wynd. If you google I'm sure you'd manage to get the details of them. We had a 5 bedroom 5 bathroom one (there was 15 of us) and it was perfect. Nice big living room. It was by no means spotless however the beds were clean and there were towels too so as a place to lay our heads etc. it was fine.

Including a train from Aberdeen and a few other wee treats I think we were about £180 so that gives you an idea of cost (think return tickets from Aberdeen were about £15). I think the girls organised it through a package company though which do tend to be more expensive. I've organised a couple in the past year and have found if you organise everything yourself it can be done a lot lot cheaper. Also dont' be scared to ask for a discount...all they can say is no! We got 50% off something due to being a group!!

Enjoy it all Edinburgh is a great place for a hen we saw loads!!

Look out for Club Nior nights in Edinburgh - check their website - great for a bit of dress up fun.

In the day time be sure to go see 'The Real Mary Kings Close' tour, the castle, Jenners and you can shop along Princes Street.

At night George Street (the street behind Princes street) is the place to be - TigerLilly & Lulu, The Living Room, Why Not?, LeMonde, Shangahi (great 80's music) to name a few.

You could stay at the Sheraton Grand which is 5 mins from George Street and has a rooftop spa!

These ideas sound great off to google some of them. Trying to keep it under £200 without really slumming as budget is an issue for me but all my sisters pals are well off and like their luxuries x

When my in laws came to visit my wife and I in Edinburgh we got them into the George Hotel which is one of the nicer hotels in Edinburgh on George Street (close to harvey nics and all the bars) for £60 a room using secret rooms on lastminute when it is normally over £100 a night.
