Hello everyone,
does anyone know if it's safe to freeze ragu white lasagne sauce? I've got half a jar left and don't want to throw it away
thank you

I've never tried it myself, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't freeze OK. I can't imagine it's much different to what's on top of a shop-bought lasagne, and there's no problem freezing that.
I'd definitely try freezing it rather than throwing it away - if it's no good when you defrost it, at least you know you've tried.Back after a very long break!0 -
if iv'e made a lasagne with jarred white sauce and not eaten it all its been frozen in portions and eaten later
it will be fine0 -
Yes it will freeze ok. It's contains stabilisers and stuff so it won't split when you defrost it. I've frozen it in a lasagne before, and freeze left over tinned stuff all the time.
It's only a game

Hi QONMW
I looked up an old thread on white sauce for you, so i am sure the question has already been asked in thereI'll merge this with it later .
White sauce recipes and questions
Incindentally - have you ever tried making white sauce (i nearly put an s instead of a w) ? I did a few months ago and it wasn't half as terrifying as i thought it would be.:) I'm sure you have though ! It was one of my demons, it and pavlova, which i still have only tried once, and i made the recipe up
ZipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
