Las vegas wedding query-birth certificate problem

Hello, posting this on behalf of my best friend who is in a right panic over this.
She is getting married in las vegas in feb (lucky her!) and is getting together all of the necessary documentation.
She has her full birth certificate, but her father is not named on it. Her mother chose to leave this blank, as the father had done a disapearing act even before she was born.
Now someone has told her that BOTH parents names need to be on it, for it to be legal abroad (for marrige purposes) does anyone know if this is correct and if so is it possible to have her fathers name added etc.
She does know his name, but has no address, contact details etc and has never even met him.
Thank you for your help.

It just says you need a valid birth cert, no mention of both parents being named on it!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
There are 2 versions of a birth cert. a full and a short. the short mentions neither parents and is pretty useless really, the full one mentions parents but whether a father is listed is down to decisions at time of registration. there does not need to be a father on there. as long as it is the full version and is certified and not a photocopy then it should be fine. hth0

Thank you both, i shall pass on those messages. Had a look myself through a travel agents overseas wedding brochure and for iceland it does clearly state "full birth certificate with both parents names" but doesnt mention that part on the vegas holidays, so hopefully its just iceland and similar places??0
