DIY chair sashes

Our venue has pretty silver chairs we can use for our ceremony and reception. I wanted to incorporate a bit of our wedding colours (royal blue and cadbury's purple) and thought maybe a chair sash with no chair cover would be nice.
I've been looking at chair sashes on ebay this morning, but thought without the covers the sashes might end up on the floor. There is a seller on ebay who's doing lycra sashes, but charging quite a bit for them. I thought maybe I could make them myself - it's just a piece of the material sewn in a circle with a ribbon slider.
Here's what I'm going for:

What do you think? I don't think they'll be that difficult, and I should be able to make a hundred for well under £50, depending on the ribbon sliders!!

How about weaving ribbons onto the chairs instead?

That is really pretty! It won't work for us though, the chairs at our venue are similar to this: http://www.thefurnituremarket.co.uk/prodimages/MEY050%20thumb.jpgSwagbucks Amazon gift vouchers 2014 125/250

i was originally only going to have sashes and i asked the chair cover company i was getting the sashes from and they said as long as they are tied tight they wouldn't fall down.
I have since decided to have chair covers as well but the sash wouldnt fall down0 -
How about getting some indian sari scarves? These are quite long and can be draped over the chair and they are also relatively cheap. You could give the scarves to people as their wedding favours.0

I'm going to put pull bows on mine0

I was going to tie pieces of organza into a bow but now u got me thinking they might fall down? !0

I bought 125 organza chair sashes off ebay for under £50 delivered (these were brand new but there are used ones for much less). Yes some did fall down towards the end of the night, but by then I didn't care
