Hi ,
just been looking at my experian credit report and i defaulted on a card on the 1/7/2004 (silly i know i was young) . It states on experian that these defaults stay on file for 6 years after the date of default but its still on there . Is this right or do i need to speak to someone somewhere to have it removed ???
Mnay thanks

It may take a few weeks to drop off after the 6 years date. You could email or ring experian and ask.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -
Don't take this literally but i was under the impression that defaults stay on the report for 6 years after the settlement date? Does anyone know?£23,000 debt cleared June 2010. Opted for Payplan DMP 2005, took matters into my own hands 2008 in order to clear debt speedier. Yipee I got there! :j0

It's six years from the date of default, not the date of settlement.
HTHUnless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
100% date of default, bug the cra's as it should be 6 years max0
