does anyone know where I can buy a cherry stoner/pitter?

Hi, if anyone could advise, I would be most grateful - I need to make something out of the great heap of cherries from my tree, which are currently on my kitchen table...

I need to buy one today, so not online.. I am about to head off and try TK Maxx and ASDA, but other than that I cannot think of anywhere that may sell them - I cannot remember seeing them anywhere, ever... but then I guess I havent been looking..

If anyone has seen one in any of the supermarkets, or chains, I would love to know!

thanks in advance,

fc

I'm sure I once saw one in The Range, if you have one nearby.

  • Thanks folks - I have never seen a lakeland, so assume there isnt one round here - not sure I have seen the range either... I will look online and check there is not one of either of these shops that I have overlooked...

    Any other sightings?
  • ok, have just checked - there is a lakeland and a john lewis, but both 20 plus miles away - so any other ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Somoene suggested making one with a cork and a hair slide/thin wire yesterday?

Do any of your neighbours have one?

Good luck, I did 2lb by hand yesterday and it has stained my fingers a lovely shade of brown.

I used to have a garlic press that doubled as a pitter, a bit like this

I know that's on Amazon, but you might be able to find something like it locally

Thanks Swan! After many miles of trekking through town I am home - and that is the one I finally found in the co-op department store.... it was like finding the holy grail...:)

It cost £4.99 (almost twise as much as amazon!!) but then I needed a new garlic press anyway - so its not too bad!

However, I somehow also came home with a blue linen top and a pie tin! :o
