I wanna fun family board game

Hi

My 5 year old is starting to really get into board games. He is a bright kid and loves it when all the family play together. We have the usual games - Monopoly (he loves the adult not childrens version, though I tend to cut it short), Junior Scrabble, Kerplunk, Trivial pursuits, Cluedo and Ratrace. I am aware that my games are all stuck in the 80s and I have not tried new games out for 20 years! There must have been some good board games out which I have missed. I want something fun, suitable for a bright 5 and 8 year old but one the adults will enjoy as well. Not too many little fiddly pices to get lost and simple to learn!!! I am thinking of buying "Pass the Pigs" but apart from that haven't a clue.....Can anyone recommend anything please.
