Could give you a recipe for tipsy icing.

Get one fool proof recipe....and then get one fool (in my case my partner). Sent partner off to work's Xmas do whilst I'm at work. When OH gets back, after falling up the stairs, for some reason decides to do the icing for the xmas cake. He takes the fool proof recipe and works his way through it.

Egg whites....erm....hic...yup that's them. Whisk until fluffy....hic....whoops dropped them, start again. There's a few bubbles, that'll do. Add in icing sugar and mix (cue icing sugar and icing flying around the kitchen). Put what's left on the cake.

Then I get home from work....to a sloshed partner on the door step with arms open wide saying "hello sweetheart...hic...welcome home...guess what ive done" (with a proud and very drunk grin on his face). I then get a very friendly cuddle ... if you catch my meaning and head upstairs.

He proudly shows me his cake and I burst out into giggles. The icing was supposed to be fluffy...but its all runny....and is running everywhere. Kitchen is a bit of a mess. He hasn't covered the marzipan, but he's so proud of his achievement and is determined to show it off to my family when we go round there for xmas. And of course I can't back out of this.

Well...at least it gave people a good laugh on the day.

At least he tried to be helpful :) My XDH's idea of helpful was to go to the works christmas do on christmas eve, get absolutely plastered, fall asleep behind the bathroom door (so no one could use the loo). Finally emerge after I had driven round the county doing the present run, go to bed and then get up in the morning asking who had decorated DS's santa sack as it was too good for me to have done it.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
