When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D:D

Goooood morning everyone:j
Bit of a bleary start here - I couldn't get to sleep last night for ages, was about 2am when I dropeed off...boooo, I'm no good without a big sleep!:o
But, need to trot off to Asda today - have no food, I must go!

Had a good weekend - yesterday I watched my youngest in her gym comp (she's 11 ) and she got a silver medal, bless her.
Ok, better write my list and get this pair off to school...

Today:
  • check banking
  • daily scratch
  • meal from plan tonight - spring rolls, rice and veg
  • shopping with list....attempt to not buy too much!!
  • buy petrol at Asda where it's cheapest
  • packed lunch for girls
  • email college tutors and finance at Uni yet again - see if they can help me make a decision
  • washing was done overnight
  • washing will go on the line
Ok, that's my lot.
Have a great day:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Morning all!
Another day in paradise (supply teaching in school from hell!) - just overheard them chatting about the weekend - cocaine, booze and fags seem the order of the day for year 10:eek::eek::eek:
If I ever have children they're never going further than the end of the street!

    Today's list...
    • Try to battle through the day at school - think one more day's pay, one more day's pay.....
    • Try to work out how to generate about £90 extra cash to pay for car tax (just £20:T), council tax (£44) and Dad's birthday pressie (£25) - if I can do this the savings will stay in tact
    • Walk dog for free exercise - done 1 already
    • All food from stores
    • Drive carefully to conserve petrol
    • Check for surveys
    • Check banks
    • Try to have a LSD but I do have a whole batch of very angry insect bites on my leg that may need some antiseptic cream - any suggestions?
    • Take old gold ring that doesn't fit and I don't like to cash for gold place and see how much they'd give me
    • Read library book
    • Retry boiler - its turned off as its making a very funny noise - luckily we dn't need the heating and the water for the shower is sufficient - we have an immersion so if desperate we can use that and boil the kettle for washing up - trying to decide whether to get it fixed this week or leave it until after hols (on Saturday) as we won't be around to check its ok:(
    • Get OH to look at hoover - it cut out, possbly overheating - its newish so shouldn't be playing silly b*ggers:mad:
    • Think about birthday pressie for dad
That's it for today - have a good one
    xx

    Morning All :hello:

Air Shows are brilliant aren't they Savingforarainyday? I remember Popeye introducing them to me and they are SO exciting. (And quite expensive.....well done on making it more of a bargain :) )

We went to the footie on Saturday :footie::footie::footie:_party_ Saw Paraguay v Spain. The atmosphere was WOW, and it was a great experience. Everybody over here has been enjoying the greatest month long party, _party__party__party_ They are sports MAD here, and when the WC finishes there's a break of 2 weeks before the Rugby Tri tournament :rotfl::rotfl:

    So today I have/will:
Taken the car in for it's post-purchase check up, we've given them a list of things to correct which are covered under the 30 day warranty. So mending a tear in the seat and a crack in the windscreen sorted for free. :)
And arranged for them to deliver it back :j

Must buy some toilet rolls and some kindling. (The cheap wood I bought last week is impossible to light, we need some smaller pieces.)

Continue with menu plan - hence not needing anything at the shops except wood and bog roll - I will NOT buy anything else :naughty:

Continue searching for my vaccination certificate, if I don't find it then when we return from Mozambique in 2 weeks time not only will I have to have another set  but I'll have to pay again :eek:

    Knit knit unpick knit :o

10 mins on the CT  will try and increase it too _pale_

Have a great day everybody :A
