Postponing State Pension; Advice Please.

I will be 60 on Jan 1st and have just received info about my state pension with the option of deferring it. I am fortunate in that I already have an occupational pension and my husband still works. So I do not really need the money now but will in the future, of course.

Is the deal on offer a good one or could I put the money into other investments for a better return? What snags are there with the deferment option? Have other posters deferred?

The best bet is to look at the pension service leaflet as their are two types of deferment, that each have their own =/- points. Have alook and then post any queries, it may answer all your questions.

I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
