I bought my dress (Maid of Honour) for my best friends wedding. I saw it cheaper (in the sale) a couple of weeks later so made a trip into town just to return the dress and 'buy it back again' at the cheaper price.

Therefore saving my friend, about £150.

On the way home, scraped my car in the carpark. Cost me £450 to repair!

    Does that count?

I saw a barbecue reduced from £99 to £50 in the sales, but to save money I resisted buying it. As soon as I got home I regretted my decision, so the following day I went back to see if it was still there. As I waited to turn into the carpark another car ran into the back of me and wrote my car off.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

I have looked up buses (we're staying in Marbella, it's a privately owned apartment) the only problem being they're at 9.45pm or 11pm, I land at 9.30pm so I would be hanging around for ages and would still not get a night out on the Friday.

When buses are spaced out like that from airports, it is usually because they are timed to connect with flights. Chances are the 9.45pm bus is going to be waiting for your 9.30pm flight. Unless it is a very busy airpoirt with flights arriving every few minutes, it would make no sense to havbe the bus leave just before a flight arrives. Is there are tourist information office you can ring to ask? Or maybe you could try ring the airline customer services desk.

Otherwise, could your friends ask for you when they arrive, or they might be able to arrange for a taxi firm local to the apartment to come and collect you, that's usually cheaper than an airport cab. If not, you would still just have time to pre-book a cab.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

Hubby changed the bulb in his headlight last week.

Snapped the fitting. £280+ VAT as we have to replace the entire headlight! It is a complete sealed system (apparently)!!!

Would have cost £5 to change the bulb at a garage.

Oooo Marbella is loverly, I agree with the bus - it's probably linked into the flight. Most are. Enjoy your weekend :D

I often buy things which are a bargin and then think I didn't really need them

Am much better than I used to be though - hunting lowest prices etc

So Imelda, is this what you're feeling?

Go to Spain, enjoy yourself as though you paid nothing for it and hang the expense - it's not like you're selling your soul to go.

Often airlines lay on buses themselves and will sell you a ticket on the plane.

I tell you who will know the answer to this and on a budget- the folks over at the lonely planet thorntree forum. Ask them there. I thought id have a similar sort of cabbing experience somewhere once, turned out there was a bus for 15p instead  foreign buses are seldom on the internet, but thorn tree is a fab reseource, and those guys know how to do things on the cheap!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
