Pilates - will I lose weight?

Hi All,

I NEED to do some exercise but there is one drawback, I hate to sweat! I'm on medication which makes me really hot so I'd rather do excercise that doen't make me any hotter. Does this exist??
I wondered about Pilates - does this help with weight loss or do I really need to do cardio?
Help!

as far as I'm aware it does not offer weight loss but more muscle toning , may make you look slimmer

As far as i know you should be doing something that increases your heart rate and i'm not sure pilates does. A gym with good air conditioning would be more effective i think. I actually quite like going to the gym in hot weather because its so much colder in there than outside/the house.
    Or how about swimming?

    Thanks for your replies :)

Muscle toning would be a start.I think my muscles are in a coma.

I like swimming but, being a lazy moo, with the best of intentions I rarely go. I'll just have to get my lazy bum off the sofa, I guess!

    Hi,
I do pilates by home DVD and you'd be suprised what a good workout it gives your muscles. I purely started to help strengthen my back as I had been having issues and it has been brilliant for that. I think it is actually a pretty good workout and I do work up a sweat, my BF laughed and thought it was quite ridiculous so I made him do a session with me and he soon changed his tune:p
