Hi, im being ignored by my bank and i dont know what to do ?
back in 2002 i went to hsbc for financial advice because me and my husband had got into a bit of a mess with credit cards - i was advised to take out a consolidation loan and that i would be £200 better off - as it happens the income n expenditure i did at the bank turned out to be incorrect and i was actually £200 per month worse off - then i lost my job, then my husband was made redundant so we ended up arranging to pay this loan via a debt management company (dmc) - we were late with a couple of payments and then the dmc also failed to pay following a computer error so hsbc took us to court to get a charging order put on our house - although we went to court, it was a bad time and we were not given very good advice by our dmc or hsbc solicitors who both told us basically there wsa nothing we could do to stop this happening, so ... long story short somehow we know have a charging order for over £30k on our house (loan was for 20k)we want desperatley to move house so i sent hsbc a letter from off here (brill thanks) and a chq to cover the admin charge askin for a statement showing how we ended up owing so much and a copy of the original loan agrrement - they cashed my cheque nearly 3 months ago and ive received nothing - i sent another letter off here chasing it - still nothing - does anyone know why they are ignoring me - i thought they are legally bound to reply - what do i do next?!? cheers.

There are plenty of helpful people on these boards so im sure an expert will come along shortly. However, the first things that spring to mind are, did they definatly cash the cheque, and what part of the bank did you send it to? Can you access the loan details online or by calling the branch?0

HI - thanks, they did def. cash the cheque - i cant view the loan details online as they closed my accounts and referred us to their debt dept. all telephone contact has to be done through their solicitors - which i avoid because its so distressing speaking to them! I prefer to do everything in writing and by recorded post as at least then i have some proof of what has been agreed - i just dont understand how they can ignore me like this! its all very depressing!0

When you say their solicitors, what are they called.0

they are called DGsolicitors and dealt with us pretty much from the get go - no-one at branch wants to know0

found this online for you, HSBC Invoice Finance has a recovery and dispute resolution operation based in Birmingham. Within this facility there is a dedicated litigation team of solicitors and legal executives who specialise in commercial debt recovery. The litigation team operates in the name of “DG Solicitors” but is a dedicated “in-house” unit. As DG Solicitors use the same systems as we do, we offer a seamless transition to issue legal proceedings, if necessary.0
