Alternative to earring butterfly backs?

Heya all.:)
I've had my ears pierced since I was about 8 but have only started to wear earrings more frequently.
I'm having problems with earrings that have the butterfly backs though because when I take my earrings out, the process of taking the butterfly back off really irritates and hurts my ears.
Does anyone know of any alternative earring backs that might be better?
Thanks in advance.

I have a pair which go through straight and then the back flips down to stop it falling back out. They seem to be fairly uncommon though as I haven't seen them since.
I also have a couple of hoop like pairs where the piece that goes through the ear clips into the back in a sort of V catch. They are an absolute ****** to get to clip closed though.
Have you tried the backs with the wide clear plastic rings? They are much easier to use than ordinary butterlies and you can buy bags of them to replace existing butterflies.0 -
Hello LadyMorticia
I think Amanita means andralok earrings;):

Andralok earrings are easy to put on and to remove...............and you can sleep in them without risking being pierced by an earring post as you lay your head down on the pillow.

I get this too! But I find the more I wear the earing's the easier it becomes and they irritate me less. I also find a quick dip in surgical spirit after each wear can help.
Failing that with many types of longer style earing's you don't need to wear a backing and instead, to keep them on the card, they have plastic tubing--these can be really helpful if you don't like the metal butterfly backing but you have to keep your eye out for the smaller sized plastic tubing as some can be too long and unsuitable.0 -
You could try those clear rubber scroll backs, they're the ones I used to use when I was younger... I think (not 100% on this through) you can get them in Claires Accessories, and maybe Asda too in a multi pack near the George jewellery stands x0
