I keep mine in the fridge and I've had no problems. Although if you want to keep it longer than about 4-5 days I would freeze it.Official DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

Hello cantcope
A good trick for freezing soup is to put single portions into plastic freezer bags, then put the bag into a container eg a lunch box. When it's frozen you can then remove the bag from the box and stack the portions of soup up in your freezer. (Write the flavour of soup on the bag though.) That's a tip I learnt from an MSE person called Squeaky. Good isn't it!0 -

Snowy Owl - Thanks for that reminder!
Just another one of my daft questions. How do you write the names onto the freezer bags? Do you use pen straight onto the bag or do you use labels?
Thanks0 -
When I make a pot of soup I just do what my grandmother did, and when I heat it up daily I make sure it boils. I have never had any problems, even with soup using a chicken carcase.0

That's not a daft question at all! I have been using felt tip on the bags, but I don't recommend this as it's rubbish...so i am very glad you asked. Can anybody advise carrottopsuk and me?0 -
I use old cream and yogurt pots to freeze soup in, also have a stock of cheap plastic containers from tesco, i just pop them into warm water for a few mins to defrost the outside and free them then reheat from frozen in a pan, if i dont have time to make soup from it i freeze the stock made from a carcase to make soup another day,
had a nasty accident with about 2pts of defrosted duck stock tho when freezer went wrong!!Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

I use Papermatee Sharpie permanent markers - very fine point, so easy to write with, and won't rub off. I got a big packet in Staples - 12 for under £10, but you should be able to get single ones in places like Rymans. Might even find them in the pound shops.0
