Evans, and also try Duo, they do shoes and also nice boots for wide calves. They're expensive but they do have regular sales where you can pick up a bagain.

I'll second newlook - good selection, although some of the "wide" styles are wider than others (I am a wide 9/10 so it's hell for me trying to find shoes!).

I'd stay away from Evans unless you're desperate...yes, they do do wider shoes, but the quality is rubbish and they're overpriced 9I had a pair of pumps that lasted less than 2 months before they literally fell to pieces...was not impressed!

Nine West do some nice shoes, often in wider styles, but a lot have quite high heels, so may take some digging to find something suitable.

If cost isn't a huge issue, and you're after some really, really nice, good quality shoes, check out DUO. They do despoke fitted boots and shoes, and while they're not cheap, your daughter would be able to specify width, etc, to make sure she got the perfect fit :).

What I will say is make sure she spends that extra time finding shoes that fit properly, as a huge amount of damage can be done to feet by ill-fitting shoes!

I think you were unlucky - did you try taking them back? I always get my walking to work shoes in Evans - Frumpy but comfortable - and they get a hell of a bashing and last at least a year. Other shoes I buy in more "fashionable" styles for £10 a pair in their sales which they almost always have on. (I am a 6EEE), notice that 8 is easy to get in the sale as less popular. But new Look is more teenage orientated.
  • Next. Yesterday there was a huge display of all types of shoes with "wide fitting" advertised. I haven't seen it before so I think it's new to next.
