Hi Lisa. It would help people if you tell us what your bad credit entails, e.g. was it CCJs, defaults, etc..a bit more detail.
    Cheers

Some would say that the issue is to get the best use of your cash so that you do not have to take on loans. It is far harder to do than to say it. The benefits is in the interest you don't pay to the lenders. You may even earn interest as your budgeting skills develop. There may be benefits available to claim that can help you out.
Consider the whole forum not just the loans section of it.

  • why not try for a social fund loan-if you get certain benefits you can apply for one check government web for details https://www.dwp.gov.uk
  • Hi Lisa

I think you should have a look around the Debt Free Wannabee board - people on there are very friendly and will give you lots of good advice (you don't have to be in debt to benefit! - and they are full of brilliant ideas to help you manage your money. And so it the Old Style board.)

I am worried that if you really really want a loan and people are turning you down you may get to a point where you take a loan from a shark and end up paying loads of interest on top! So here are a couple of suggestions.

    1. Is there a credit union where you are? It sounds to me as if it would be really really helpful and might give you a loan at a sensible rate!

    2. I can't help with the glasses issue (although I do wonder if anyone like Debenhams ever sells glasses on an interest free basis, so that you could pay a bit back each month without paying interest?) but I have a suggestion for your children's bedroom - is there a RePaint scheme near you? RePaint 'recycles' (normally gives away) ends of lines of paint The paint is passed on to those in social need free of charge (or for a small donation towards overheads) - the paint is NOT all horrible colours! :j Not sure if you would qualify?

You can find out if there's a scheme near you here!

Hope this helps! - you sound a bit low and I'm sure painting the kids' bedrooms with lovely free paint would help to cheer you up!
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • Oh that sounds brill ill have a look paint recycle woo

ok i transfered alot of my debs to fiancial management programme which has freed up some cash for me.

Yes i have had CCJ'S 2 i think which are on the prog.

I think there is a credit union in the town i do wk full time so it a bit awkward getting up there

  • If you are on a debt management programme is it with one of the free companies (payplan, cccs etc)

There are some sharks out there only after their own commissions.
