Hiya

Martin posted on here a few weeks/months ago about referbished laptops/netbooks from companys such as tesco, argos etc...selling on ebay this is found here....
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-netbook-deals

Anyway ive wanted to buy a netbook for some time, but they seem to exspensive. So i looked at the above link, and started to browse through ebay. I found Tescos outlet are selling referbished ACER A110 N270 netbooks at £129.95.

There were 78 yesterday but are only 2 left now. this one is blue and black
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290449938001&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

and for the same price there is a white and black netbook, same make. There were 35, but are now just over 10 left
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290449938544&ssPageName=WATCHM_BC_P_1

Im really pleased i found this and must say a big thanks to martin, i never would known to look outlet centres on ebay :money::money::beer::beer:

Sorry, that's a crappy spec, the low price is a false economy. You would be much better to spend a bit more and go for something like this.
    Gone ... or have I?

Indeed. What's the point of a netbook with "up to" 3 hours of battery life? That usually translates into 2h while light surfing, and 1:20 or so watching a movie, if that is possible at all...

More to the point... 16GB of storage space was seen as meagre a decade ago, let alone now.

Having said that, it's good that people are finding these deals. Someone will strike gold some day :)

i think i have a bargin. I cant offored a brand new computer, as we have a tight budget. We have 2 children (ones 2) and we need to remove our computer from our front room, as she is constantly pulling leads, trying to get to the monitor....... And as we have no where to put it, this netbook is a godsave! As for the 2 hours battery, you get what u pay for, and 2 hours is more than enough time for me to pop on here, check out the deals and for my partner to use for work. I know its not for the hard core surfers (like a friend of myn) but it will do its job well with us. i must admit when i read that some1 said it "was a crappy spec" i was worride sick for a little while, as i thought id wasted my money. But this netbook is ideal for us, we dont download, or store photos or things like that on out pc. Just thought id explain a little as to why this netbook will suit the people taht dont go online alot, dont have alot of mioney to spend on a brand new uptodate pc/netbook xxxx

...and the added advantage is that you have a solid state hard drive so that when the little one drops the netbook chances are it will still work....sounds perfect for you and your family...and NEVER think you have to justify your purchases to people you've never even met or are likely to meet...you just enjoy your netbook and happy surfing:)

I have one of these, though with 120GB HDD, not the solid state drive. Had it for more than a year now. Comes in useful for travelling. Was invaluable for my Australia trip, together with an unlocked USB modem.

Though in order to use it for wathcing films etc on flights or long bus rides, I got this extended battery for £36.89. Gives me up to ten hours usage on one charge. Chunky, but looks fine. :)

I understand some people have their circumstances, but I still can't help but think that £130 could be better spent on a refurbished laptop thats about a couple of years old. You'd certainly get a bigger screen and hard drive, and something that won't be obsolete in a matter of months.

    But that's my opinion anyway.

    ;) Thank you xxxx
Just sometimes on this website you feel like you have to justify yourself, as some people do tend to critisize, or are just rude, lol

You don't have to justify yourself. You just have to justify why this is such a good deal. Because I really don't think it is at all. Misleading other readers into thinking it's a cracking deal just because you think it is, is just plain irresponsible, so I feel compelled to contribute to this thread (whether you think it is rude or not) and let potential buyers make their own informed decision.

I'm sure I don't need to remind people that this whole site is dedicated to money saving.
