JSA - stopping claim

My friend wants to stop claiming JSA, she has a little green booklet that she needs to fill in to stop her claim. Her question is, is it mandatory that she has to fill in the details (part 1 -3) of where she will be working and how many hours etc she will be working for? Or can she just sign the declaration (part 4), leave the rest blank and post it back?
any help on this would great, thanks.

Hi. I think the most important thing is that she signs it and puts down the last day she wishes to claim (think she can claim up until the day before she starts work)
I think the putting where she will be working and how many hours could be because she may be entitled to something called jobgrant which is apayment she receives for getting back into work - but not 100 percent sure. I don't think its mandatory but don't quote me as not totally convinced.0 -
No, it isnt mandatory but you can lose out on Housing Benefit and Council Tax run on and the Job Grant (if you were eligible and this is when you have been claiming for 26 weeks without any breaks in the claim at all), which can amount to several hundred pounds. I would suggest that if your friend decides not to release the information, she just puts a note in the ES40 to say that she doesnt wish to, so that they dont think she has just missed it and try to contact her.0

I never had to fill that part in. I just had to say why I was signing off and that was it.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Would she lose out on these if she is claming them at the moment? not in say 10yrs time?
thanks for your replies, very helpful.0 -
The Housing and Council Tax Run On and Job Grant are only paid where the person has been claiming JSA for 26 weeks without any breaks and signs off to start employment which is going to last for 5 weeks or longer. So in order to claim it in 10 years, your friend would have to sign on a bit nearer the time!0

Yes thanks, i was worried it may affect her if she needed to claim again in 10yrs time. She doesnt claim anyhting else other than jsa.
I may have got the details wrong, - what she is concerned about is the green booklet only asks for company details etc, if the job is over 16hrs p/w. She has been offered a job with 10hrs per week with a view to her hours increasing within the next couple of months. She knows she can still claim JSA because she will be below 16hrs for now, but doesnt want to (for one reason or another) So can she come of it? and how would she go about filling in the booklet because her work will be under 16hrs?
thanks again!:o0
