Sainsburys lied to me!!!

Options
Never had any big issues with Sainsburys before, drivers are usually very friendly and on time. But today.....

So I'm sat at home waiting for my shopping but its half hour past the delivery time. So I ring up CS and they ring the store, they tell that the driver attempted delivery but couldn't, and rang my mobile at didn't get any answer..... I was at home and nobody rang my mobile

But what can I do. I can't prove it and so now I have to wait until tomorrow to get my groceries. And will I get my £10 off next shop voucher because they were late... by a whole day??

I'm just absolautley livid that the driver/store had just blantantly lied about it. My last delivery was late and the driver said that the company keep swapping their shifts about so that drivers are late in when they think they're on time due to lack of communication. However, if this driver knew he was going to be late, why didnt he just ring me and tell me instead of just not bothering to show up and then lie about it.

FURIOUS  I'm so  off!
If it's free and I can eat it, I'll have it!

Mobile always has a signal, and even if it doesn't, or I don't answer, the driver would always leave a msg (in the past, when they are late etc). And the driver has to buzz at the gate for my flat (and that's a loud buzzer in my flat) so I would've heard that, but nothing.

I just think all the drivers are stressed trying to keep up with the schedule and this time he just missed mine out completely. I would still have been peeved, but if he'd just rung to say he'd be late or whatever then fine, but I just don't like to be lied to so that it looks like I was at fault by apparently not being at home.

Nice one! I have a firm belief that big businesses like Sainsburys etc have absolutely no qualms with giving the finger to the general public when it comes to matters like this and will often give you the run-around (like the guy in the first post) or downright ignore letters of complaint, but I'm glad you received some compensation.

We used to have a lot of probs with drivers not turning up when we shopped with Tescos...though at least they'd blame a van breaking down or something and not turn around and say they came but there was no answer.

The only big problem I've had with Sainsburys was when they'd mixed receipts up and charged me for someone elses shopping...of course I wouldn't have minded if the other persons was cheaper :D but it was £30 more than mine was. I was very impressed when I phoned up about it...I thought they'd never in a million years believe me but CS explained to the store, then put me through so they could issue a refund...they lady couldn't even get into the cash office to check their receipts/amounts...just took my word for it and even rounded up the amount I'd told them.

It's a shame that some companies customer service can be so variable...hopefully you'll get your shopping ok tomorrow but do complain again...if no luck via phone, write them a letter.

Don't really think that Sainbury's lied to you, more like the driver lied to them, and they only have his word really.

its frustrating more than anything else, the same happened to me but with a washing machine! and i believe a phone supplier has done something simular to me in the past, to get home earlier is my belief!
