  • Hiya

I think that is quite expensive for flowers. Is it somewhere big or a 'chain'? I found going to a small local shop alot cheaper.
My bouquet £45, BM £35 each, mums corsage £7.50 each, buttonholes £3 each

  • £1000 seems a quite expensive. I have been working on a price guide set by the I Am Engaged website about the cost of wedding flowers and mine are coming in around £600 which I thought was expensive but at the same within budget because we have around 120 guests.

Our biggest expenditure is on the bouquets as we have 5 bridesmaids which totals £175.

Unfortunately because I am new I am unable to post the link to the site but you can search I Am Engaged in google and its the first result you come to alternatively mail me and I will happily reply with the link.

    Happy flower hunting.

Just as a side point, what did your florist say about using hydreangeas in a hand tied bouquet?

I wanted ivory roses and lilac hydreangeas but my florist advised against it and said she wont put them in a hand tied as once out of water they begin to droop after about an hour and she had had a bride disappointed when her bouquet didnt even last until the photographs.

    Google seems to agree.
  • I would grow my own at that price ... Try to aim at simple designs ..
