Need advice.
Hi all,
I am having problems with sainburys loans for the second time within the space of a year when setting up a new direct debit when changing my bank details.
I rang them a few weeks back, gave them my new bank details which they confirmed in a letter to me a few days later, but now they are chasing me for a late payment and want to charge me for it.
I phoned the bank who say they have not recieved a request from sainsburys to set up a direct debit from my account, so as far as i am concerned they missed payment is down to sainsburys.
I just want some advice on where i stand in this situation and who i could contact as its my word against theirs.
Cheers.

if they confirmed in a letter the new dd then you should remind them of the fact and refuse to pay any charges0

Sainsburys is only able to claim one direct debit per month from your account under the agreement. So in the process of changing banks was a payment due but wasn't made. It takes a few days for the originator to set up a new direct debit. In which case you should have made alternative arrangements.0
