I never would have thought........

I would end up addicted to the thought of not spending money :rotfl:

I have only been using this board for a week but now.................I can't leave it alone!
We have been tootling along for years, money has always been a struggle for us, we have been with Payplan for almost 3 yrs and have repaid almost £20k and we are due to finish with them next August.

This site was recommended by a friend who was having £ problems, so i took a look and can say it is fantastic.

All i can think about now is where i can save more money and make more money.

Thank you all so much for the most excellent advice that you post :T

Suppose it has something to do with knowing you are back in control. Also reading the messages from people who are now debt free is just brilliant and i cant wait to post mine !

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
  • I haven't been here long either, but it's really rubbed off on me. I never realised how much enjoyment I could get from not spending!
  • I know what you mean, Im completely addicted, I log on as soon as I get up, as soon as I get home from work, and sometimes even AT work (naughty me).
But it doesnt stop there, I'm even having dreams about posting on the forum!

I cant escape! Its given me such a boost though, I've saved so much this month in order to get my car back on the road, and now I'd rather leave the car off the road for the minute, and put all the money onto my debts! All because I dont have the heart to change my signiture and mark my CC back down to its limit!

I even spent all shift in work yesterday writing this poem! ...http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=256857
    Enjoy!

It is very addictive, and thats mainly because the site (especially DFW's) is very inspirational and extremely motivating and the people here will help you with any problem no matter how large or small, so it feels more and more like a family/community the more you read and participate. Soon you will be able to help 'Newbies' and that is a great feeling. I come on here every day and cannot go a day without looking!!
  • This site is crazily addictive. Good job my parents have unlimited access! I'm currently focussing on the eBay challenge, amazing what people buy!!

on the bad side, I honestly am getting RSI!!

What has amazed me, this being my first month as a DFW, is that I seem to have paid more off my debt than usual but have more money left?!?!
