Ummm meant underwear... sthis is how confuddled i am LOL....SO after hearing very good things about the Wonderbra Ultimate strapless bra, i went ahead (swallowing bile at the £33 price tag for ONE bra eeeeek!!) and bought one offline (discount code of course!) ... well it came today and it is TINY... i got a 38c as i am normally a 36c but i have always found wonderbra come up a bit small (probably to give u more uuuumpph lol!) and honestly the 38c is teeeny tiny! I can do it up, JUST... but it is like putting on a 34. Maybe even a 32! I know i am a 36 as i was measured and ALL my bras from different shops etc are all 36es!
Despite this apparently being a good bra for the "bigger" lady (hmmmm i aint that big lol), they only make up to a 38.
So...am gonna have to return the bra to debenhams and try to find another GOOD strapless bra.... i hate them as i always find that they kind of go all like a sausage and roll upwards and all horrid things like that so i need recommendations please!

Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

i have one from tkmaxx - cost about £4 and could try on several in the shop to get the perfect size, and i've always been very happy with it! i also have one from primark that cost about the same, and it was fine the first couple of times - after a few washes the cups are a little misshapen (i find that's always the case with primark bras though!) but it was fine for the first few times!!!
one thing i will say about them though - neither are much to look at. in fact, the tkmaxx one is skin coloured and frankly i think it looks disgusting lol. so not sure it would make a decent wedding bra!!!!! they did have others - it was just my luck that the rank one fitted the best!!!!
good luck in your search - my dress has an open back so it's bra-less for me *gulp* i will be checking out the stick on bra sections soon!!!!0 -
Try the strapless bras from the Gorgeous range at Debenhams - they're the ones made specially for bigger cup sizes. I'm a 38DD and have never found a strapless bra that can hold me up properly but the one I got from there is really really good. It's black as I got it for general use, but I'm definately going back for a white/nude/cream one to wear under my wedding dress. They have a good think band and somehow the cups are very supportive even without straps.
There are a few different styles but I think the one I got was something like £22. You might get a bit off that at the moment with Debenhams having their sale on, but either way I'd say they're well worth the money.0 -
Sorry I must have mis-read your original post - the Gorgeous range starts at a D cup so if you're 36C or even 38C it'll be no use
You could try the regular Debenhams range though - sure they'll still be good. 0 -
They are very tight, the fitting ladies in debenhams point this out. They suggest wearing them round the house for a few hours, a bit like shoes, to break them in.Sealed pot member 735

The Beatties in Wolves today had discounts on the bras in the bridal section - they were £10, so might be sale in your local Beatties too x0

hmmm i did wonder about this BUT trouble is, what if i wear it around the house and afterwards it STILL doesn't fit... i wouldn't be able to return it so i would be £33 down
So don't think i can do that mores the pity!
Just found this one http://www.lasenza.co.uk/bras/itec/level3.aspx?d=1&type=398&style=700517&product=010009048&img=SS1110_95 which looks quite good.... like it gives a nice shape? I always hate that most strapless seem to have high cups that flatten ur boobs!Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Have you got a bravissimo near you?
Its a really good store for "larger" ladies and if you want to order online they give you a free reply paid bag for returns. I think most Bras are around the £25 mark too so well worth the investment.
Also - at Bravissimo they look at you in the bra you are wearing (as luck would have it I had a tatty one on!) and then depending on how well fitted you are in that one will decide what size they think you should be and bring you lots to try. Highly recommended for those that hate being measured naked!
Good luck0 -
I second what Cloves said - i LOVE Bravissimo and if you dont have a store near you, you can look online instead£2 Savers Club #156!

Hi I was gonna recommend a la senza one to you but not the one you've listed http://www.lasenza.co.uk/bras/strapless_bra/level3.aspx?d=1&type=112&style=701330&product=010010256&img=SS1110_7 this one here
I've got this one and it does good things to my boobs lol
The one you listed I looked at last week when I was looking for a new one and from memory there wasn't a lot to it. I didn't try it on though to be fair.
I would suggest going into la senza get them to measure you for their bras (it's free so why not eh? ) I'm sure they will have something for ya that you will love I love going there for my underwear
Bravissimo are also really good and they do free fitting aswell as someoine said above
And for what its worth I hate wonderbra's I've never found one that fits properly so I gave up on them a long time ago lol I know some people swear by them tho so I guess it just shows that everyone is different huh
Good Luck xx:j:love: Getting married to the man of my dreams 5th November 2011

Go to John Lewis - I went there the other week to be measured and the lady did it all by eye which apparently is the proper way of doing things. I know that my boobies are a bit bigger because I have gotten fat:o I managed to pick up a pretty Triumph Bra in an E cup for £25. I wasnt made to feel abnormal like in some other places and I can honestly say it is the best fitting bra that I have ever had.0
