35mm Camera Film

My Dad's decided in his wisdom to go back to using his old 35mm camera but has no idea where he can buy film for it these days. Does anyone have any suggestions where the best place is to get hold of some 35mm film please

I use https://www.7dayshop.com for a lot of electronics accessories (memory cards, batteries etc) and know they do lots of photographic kit. I'm not sure how their prices compare on film but they do list plenty of 35mm and they do quantity discounts and free delivery so I would think you'd go too far wrong, especially if you want good quality film.

Ebay also has plenty of film, check to see if they list the use by date though.

The problem these days might be getting the film developed at a sensible price

Edit: Kodak offer a mail order developing service, up to 27 small prints for £5.99. That means film + developing is going to be around £9 for a couple of dozen pictures, unless it is a special occasion that's madness Much better would be a decent digital photo frame and a digital camera then he can take unlimited pictures and view them without having to use anything scary like a proper computer. All you need to do is make a backup of the memory card every so often.

I to used my 35mm SLR recently while on holiday, no problem with Tesco doing developing + cd.
I didn't have time to go to the City centre to get film at any of the photographic equipment retailers, but did get a Kodak 24 200 ISA for £1.99 at a specialist Digital developer, though they were out of batteries - got them in Maplins.

If it is close to the best before date, store in the fridge. It will last up to 5 years before it deteriates.. A little tip that was told to me by a pro photographer a few years back.

Tell your dad that many of us never stopped using film

I get mine from ebay these days; you get a much better deal with a bulk purchase - but Boots usually have 35mm film colour and B&W if they have a camera section.

I bought my film from jessops. Cant remember how much original film was, but when you get your prints developed there they give you a free film. Develping cost about £6. Hope this helps.

I used to use MX2 (.com) for film and batteries in the olden days . But most camera places (and supermarkets)still sell 35mm film.

As far as I'm concerned, the places that sold it 10 years ago will still sell it now, except they'll have fewer in stock.
