Hi All,
My husband is working all over the country as part of his job and is NOTORIOUSLY BAD at map reading. He has decided to buy an in-car navigation system.
Neither of us know anything about these, how they work, which is the best, what they cost etc.
Can anyone give any pointers on what to try and get and what to avoid??
Many Thanks,
Allison

The new TomTom One (v2) is £199.95 at Play.com.
The Medion GoPal 510T is £229.95 from Halfords and includes a TMC* module inbuilt.
Food for thought...

I've had two sat navs, one installed in a Renault Megane and now I have a Tom Tom. I'm not impressed with the latter at all.
When you've long forgotten the price you'll find poor sat nave very annoying so check all of the review sites like the one above and get the best you can.Best wishes,
Malcolm

Hiya Guys,
I found this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_173177_langId_-1_CarSelectorCatalogId__CarSelectorGroupId__varient__categoryId_33962_crumb_31265_parentcategoryrn_33962 at halfords. It seems a great price for the kit, my question to you is, is it this price cause its crap???
I really dont know what to make of all the features so dont know if I am getting a good deal or not??
Thanks,

Just bought a TomTom One and found it faultless. Takes the stress out of driving and glad I didn't need to pay more than £200 for it.0

My TomTom Go is now a good year old and it works very well.
As with ALL navigation systems common sense still has to prevail as streets do get turned into one ways only or closed for traffic, junctions become roundabouts and vice versa. I still have a map of the UK in the boot just in case.
The Navigation systems are not rational beings but are computers who will either give you the best route or the shortest route.
It takes some getting used to but I like the TomTom because its easy to fit in and take off, Plus it can fit in a handbag as well if walking in a strange area to find the right place.0 -
The OH and I are also very happy with our Tom Tom
Same old same old since 20080
