Employment with no written contract - rights?

Hi guys
I'm just trying to find out what my current rights/obligations are and any help would be appreciated.
I've been working for a legal firm for 3 years now (the first 2 years under a training contract which was formally discharged). When my training contract came to an end, I was offered a full time position which I accepted with the same firm. My employment was not broken at all and just carried on.
So I've been working for just over a year without a written contract. Do I have any rights, entitlements to pensions etc? This has never been discussed at all. Also, is there a set period of notice I have to give to leave or the firm have to give if my employement were to be terminated?
I've been worried about this for a while, especially in the current climate and just need to know where I stand.
Thanks guys

You have a contract as you have been working there, if there is nothing in writing and you have not been told differant then you must follow statutory rules.
As for the pensions, I don't think as of yet there is an entitlement but your company may have it's own scheme that you could ask them about. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
