Can i reclaim a small Pension

Hi Can any one help me out, I currently have a small pension with a company that has not been active for 18 months and in the time i have started up another one with my new company that is very good, and was wondering if any one knew if i could get my money back from my old pension.

The normal procedure in these circumstances is to either :-
(1) leave the first pension where it is and then claim the pension at retirement; this is usually not the best option, particularly if you feel your new pension is "better"
- or -
(2) transfer the old pension into the new one.

Contact your old pension provider to get the old pension's transfer value and then get in touch with the new pension provider to find out the number of years benefit you will get if you transfer it in to the new pension.

It is not normally possible to get pension contributions returned to you. There are some exceptions in the case of so-called "trivial pensions" which can be commutated in certain circumstances (Google for more info). These exceptions are, however, very limited.
